FURINKAZAN
The Furinkazan (風林火山) is a battle standard used by the Sengoku period daimyo Takeda Shingen, a historical Japanese warrior and lord. It literally means, Wind; Forest; Fire and Mountain.
Fu (風) "Move as swift as the Wind"
Rin (林) "Stay as silent as a Forest"
Ka (火) "Attack as fierce as Fire"
Zan (山) "Be immovable like a mountain"
Aside from the battle standard quoted from chapter 7 of Sun Tzu's The Art of War, there is also another version of the Furinkazan, which is 'Furinkazaninrai'.
The last two characters of this means:
In (影) "Hide as still as a shadow"
Rai (稲妻) "Appear as unexpectedly like the lightning"
The "Art of War" or the battle standard can also be transferred to romance, referred to as
the "Art of Love". This is common throughout teens in Japan.
